We serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas and ways of life between our many nationalities.We take time out to enjoy special moments by organizing Sports tournaments, Cultural programs, giving all our members an opportunity to present their cultural heritage and show case their talents and a Graduation Ceremony for International Students. Also we organizes community services to show our gratitude to the hospitality, generosity, and benevolence of India. All bonafide foreign students doing a regular course in Bangalore are welcome to join us. We have no membership charges or any fees for that matter.
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) was founded in 1950 by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, independent India's first Education Minister. Its objectives are to actively participate in the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes pertaining to India's external cultural relations; to foster and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries; to promote cultural exchanges with other countries and people; and to develop relations with nations.
Dr Joseph Wilson Lobo; Founder Director of FISA-B, was the senior/Regional Director to Indian Council for Cultural Relations(ICCR) Bangalore and Mumbai for several years at different periods of time. Dr J.W.Lobo has an international reputation as being posted as the Director and as the first secretary of Indira Gandhi Center for Indian Culture-High Commissioner of India Port Louis (Mauritius) in the year 1992 and also as the director of Indian Cultural Center (Education & Culture)-Embassy of India -Tashkent (Uzbekistan ) in the year 2002. His expertise lies in the field of social Sciences and Social Research Methodologies. Dr. J. W. Lobo was awarded with an Honorary Doctorate from the world Languages University-Uzbekistan in 2005. Dr. J. W. Lobo retired as the Regional Director of ICCR-Bangalore in the year 2009 and since continues to serves as the Director -International Relations at Christ University -Bangalore
FISA-Ball is one of the biggest annual events of the academic year for FISA-O and sees participation from around 1500 international students.
